Guidelines

This is a writing-centric gpsl steeped in character development with a dash of plot and a side of family drama. We would like to see creative writers devoted to characters and a setting we can build and watch grow and unfold together. Please try and be inclusive and welcoming to your fellow writers. We love organic lines and open threads. You should have plenty of opportunity to meet activity with group events alone, but reach out beyond your established lines and get to know everyone. This is a family of a powerful man and his wife. If you are looking for family drama, classic old blood problems and knowing that in the future your character could contribute to a series of misfortunes for the rest of their family: then this is the place for you. We plan on having quite a bit going on here. If instagram, rabb.it, tiny chats and games are your thing, you're welcome to do so but as most of the characters who will be a part of this gpsl will be in their early 30's to late 50's, not everyone will be up to speed on the latest apps. We will be holding monthly family events in hopes that people will connect and continue developing their characters. Though this is a place solely set around the family members, we encourage you to find their spouses in hopes to cause a little bit chaotic fun in the mixture. We have one pre-established game plot, but encourage you to contribute and ask questions and understand that we want this place to survive just as much as you do! Writing oriented challenges could also be in our future but these will only start once the the game is in motion and we have a good core group. Lastly, no ic/ooc line crossing, godmodding or bullying bullshitery.

Joining Benchmarked

You first need an ic journal to join. Take it easy on the numbers, underscores or excessive extra letters but recycle if that suits you. We do look at examples before we add you to make sure your writing style would be a good fit for our group. We would like to see at least 2 example pieces, either threads or narratives/journal entries. Please have an ooc post for other players to reach out. You must have the basics up in your journal! We are requiring bios or a detailed list of facts in whatever format you prefer. We would also like to see at least the following: full name, occupation, age, and etc. If we don't think we see what we need to when you apply, we'll let you know. All IC interaction will happen in OurIndescretion. This includes threads, IC posts, texts, media, etc. If you aim thread or gdocs, feel free to use place holders if you are concerned about that. FamilyLies is for all of your out of character needs such as intros, plotting, requests and Away notices. We will be employing tags, please use them. RP time never easily moves as well as real time. Play at your own pace, try not to get too far ahead or behind. Various family events will help you gauge the date in game. PB faces should be selected with common sense. No one under 18. Try and keep your character's age close to the face representing them. Dropbox if you have questions. If you are a Beaumont sibling and would like additional children added, including those outside marriage, just let us know. Character limits are common sense. Don't take more than you can handle, don't role or face-hog. Play what you have before taking more. Three (3) will be our preliminary limit. This could change as the game advances.

Updates & Activity

An active group is what keeps gpsl's like this alive. Posting once a month isn't going to cut it but you will get what you put into your experience here. That said, if you are here, please OOC intro your character within three days of adds and post something IC within the first week. If you are not posting, not commenting intros or other posts or making yourself present, you may risk being removed before the end of the month. You may reapply following an update. Please let us know if you expect to be away for any length of time.
